As a Rock/Ground dual-type Pokemon, Golem has a lot of weaknesses. However, it's one of the most well-rounded Pokemon in the game, with great Attack and Defense stats and an above average Stamina stat. Golem even has a great moveset, with only really dud charge move (Rock Blast, which has a measly DPS of 30.) Plus, the Rock Throw/Stone Edge combo is one of the most devastating movesets in the game, especially against Flying-Type Pokemon.

Rhydon has the fourth highest CP of any Pokemon in the game, with only Snorlax,Dragonite and Tyranitar having higher stats. Rhydon doesn't have any real shortcomings, as it has top tier Stamina and great Attack and Defense stats. Rhydon is best suited as a gym offense, stone edge is one of the most damaging moves in the game and Earthquake isn't too shabby either.

Tyranitar wth SE hits quick and hard, with a 251 attack + STAB. However, it has attack heavy stats (not a tank) combined with being weak to water and double weak to fight, so Tyranitar is not going to be the strongest gym defender, certainly well below Blissey and Snorlax.
