news: Forget Easter Event bonuses, Niantic』s biggest launch coming soon

FORGET THE Easter Event and Eggstravaganza bonuses, the latest Pokemon Go update news has confirmed that Niantic are close to launching their biggest content drop since the game was released in 2016.

While fans have been checking out the new Pokemon Go Easter Event, along with its Eggstravaganza bonuses, it appears that Niantic have other plans.

Hot on the launch of their latest Pokemon Go update, Niantic confirmed they’re moving toward releasing their biggest changes for the game.

According to the most recent Pokemon Go news from the development team, players will soon have access to an all new cooperative social gameplay experience in Pokemon Go.

What this is, Niantic have remained coy over, however, other sources have provided some vital background information.

Several reported key features look set to make their debut in the coming weeks, including a further expansion of the Teams system, as well as a revamp of the Gym mechanics.

Players will apparently be able to monitor their Pocket Monsters that are away guarding Gyms, this will include notification on battles that they have either won or lost.

Other new features will also reportedly include having to feed your Gym Pokemon with berries, although it’s unclear if this will extend to the ones already present in the game, or a new special kind.

Additional rewards will also be attached to owning Gyms, and may even feed into a wider social system that will see global goals set by Niantic.

This could be the way the development team finally launch the Legendary Pokemon that are currently missing and may even extend to new teams being established in the future.

Timed raids is another alleged feature coming to the game and sound like a natural extension of the daily rewards system, giving players something to do as an alternative to just hunting Pocket Monsters.

Nothing has been leaked on how the mechanics behind a raid will function, however, it seems likely that Niantic will provide new information on their plans in the near future.

In a separate update from the leaked information above, Game designer at Niantic, David Hollins, recently confirmed that Legendary Pokemon were still in the works.

Hollins also spoke about PvP and Trading being long-term goals for Niantic.

If the recent rumours prove true, the new raids could fit in nicely with any new Player-vs-Player features being cooked up.

While these will be the main new features coming to the game, there are other smaller changes that are also being worked on.

New information has been found by dataminers, suggesting that a redeemable code system is set to be added to the game in the near future.

There is currently no information on the release date, only that the code is apparently ready to function and in place, having been added in a recent Pokemon Go update.

It appears that redeemable codes will reward items such as Avatar items, Candy, Stardust and PokeCoins.

Some of these could be connected to future events, while others may be offered by some of Pokemon Go’s commercial partners.

Another small tweak will be the launch of a new new notification system, that will give players in-game updates on when new Pokemon Go events are being released.

Currently, players can enjoy hatching better Pokemon from 2km eggs, earning double XP, as well as added Candies from the Pocket Monsters successfully hatched.

In terms of an end date, the Pokemon Go Easter Eggstravaganza event is only running for a week, which means it finishes on April 20 at 9pm, UK time.

Lucky eggs are also available at a discounted price, selling at 50% off for the duration of the event, and also providing players the opportunity of stacking them to get X4 the XP.
